Happy Snow Day everyone!!! I hope that you are enjoying the snow…whether for you that means running outside and playing in it or admiring it from inside with a warm cup of hot chocolate and a blanket 🙂
I haven’t updated all of you lately and thought this would be the perfect day to share some photos of my Christmas decorations. My house has been feeling nice and cozy since I put my decorations up the weekend after Thanksgiving and now with snow out the window everything seems that much more magical.
I bought a majority of my decorations last year when I had my first place of my own. My tree was the first thing I bought and so I shaped all the rest of my decorations around the ornaments and colors I chose. I love traditional Christmas colors of red, green, and gold but I was drawn to sets of ornaments that were non-traditional colors. That is the route I decided to take so my tree and much of the rest of my house is covered in blue, pink, green, purple, and metallic decor.
The landing in my townhouse was the perfect place to showcase my tree. I bought the tree, all my ornaments and garland, and the metallic and burlap tree skirt at Target. Of course having one tree just isn’t enough….so I also have these two miniature tinsel trees. They are really fun and add a nice metallic touch. My simple stockings in neutral colors with fur trim. I also added some color to the banister by wrapping it in 2 different styles of garland. One colored and one with white stars. I replaced my “all year” picture inside of my big frame with 2 smaller Christmas prints from Hobby Lobby. They are both sparkly….of course! Glory to the Newborn King and Joyeux Noel.
This year I must have decided 3 trees wasn’t enough because I added a fourth…..This AWESOME wooden spindle tree was another great find from Picks 🙂 I added a piece of garland and it looks great on it’s own!
I brought metallics in to a lot of my smaller pieces that I use to decorate for Christmas. This beautiful “All is Calm All is Bright” wooden sign was a complete steal that I saw at TJ Maxx. The top of my book shelf by my landing is the perfect place to add some more Christmas spirit…I got my great colored advent calendar at Target last season and I enjoy waking up each morning in December and grabbing a treat out that day’s box! The gold metallic deer and all three of my sparkly colored trees are also from Target.
My final Christmas showcase spot at my house is on my table. I found this “Believe in the magic of Christmas” sign last year at Kittsona lifestyle downtown and the rest of the centerpiece is new for me this year. The beautiful angel is from Hobby Lobby and the unique driftwood white and silver deer is from Target. It is harder to see but on the runner I have more of the garland from the bannister of my stairs and then some small wooden and metallic animals that were really inexpensive in the Saver spot at Target. Finally, the silver JOY decor piece is also from Target. (I think reading this blog post to proof it showed me how much I must spend at Target….but I don’t think I’m alone!)
I hope you all have had a relaxing (and maybe productive!?) snow day and I hope that this post brings you some inspiration if you are still working on decorating your own spaces for Christmas. Thank you so much for reading!!
